week 2

1. describe your project(s) in 3 sentences
what is my project.... its still a little up in the air. it will be a projection. it will be a stop motion piece. the images will be created by me painting them.

3. describe what equipments you need
i will need a blank canvas, a projector, a dark area

4. describe any special condition you need
i would like to use the doorway to create a small dark room for my projection (see image above). i also plan on utilizing the shape of the space i will create and i might use and easel and canvas to project on to, i'm still unsure. i would like it to be within the doorway closest to then entrance so its the first thing everyone sees :)

This is a one minute short film of an animated painting. I was partially experimenting with the concept of animation using the traditional form of paint and canvas, simply because there is something so fluid and tangible about it. Painting is something that is very natural for me; it feels very innate. Combining it with the concept of time based media, something that i am currently interested in, is a way for me to take my foundations and use them move forward with my art.

Also I wanted to create a piece that explores the process. When I paint, there is no plan, I go with it and wait to see where it takes me. I wanted this short film to portray the same idea.
